How the composite score works
The overall score is a weighted average of the categories: Getting the product 40%, Trust before buying 20%, Mobile 15%, Speed 15%, and Polish and audit 10%. It is never more than 10 points above the Getting the product score, because a product a visitor cannot get cannot score well on anything else, and never more than 25 points above the weakest category, so one badly broken area is not averaged away. Any issue in the main list caps it at 89, so a score above 90 means nothing worth fixing was found.
Each category starts at 100 and stays there when nothing was found in it, whether or not the inspection got that far. Each distinct verified finding deducts 60 points for a serious problem on the path from arriving to paying, 40 for another serious problem, 30, 15 or 8 by high, medium or low severity otherwise, and 4 for an audit finding. Each additional finding below the list takes 2 more points off the overall score, up to 10. Scores stop at zero and round to whole numbers. The formula is fixed and versioned, so the same saved evidence always receives the same score.
The $9.99 Notch Pro bonus conflicts with the "notch is free" page
Buyers choosing Pro Yearly or Lifetime are told the top perk is a $9.99 Notch Pro licence, but the Notch page says they already get all of the notch for free.
On /pricing, the first Pro perk reads "Lynx Notch Pro, lifetime licence, free · Worth $9.99", and the comparison table calls it "The standalone app's Pro". The /notch page says "Free with Lynx, all of it." and answers "Is it a separate app?" with "No. It comes with Lynx Download Manager". A buyer at the pay step has no way to tell what this $9.99 perk adds, so the headline bonus on Yearly and Lifetime reads as padding.
Try it: Open /pricing and read the Pro card's first perk and the Notch Pro row in the table. Then open /notch and read the hero line and the "Is Lynx Notch free?" and "Is it a separate app?" FAQ answers.
Phone visitors on /download get only a Mac installer button
Mac users who find Lynx on their phone have no way to send the installer to their Mac, so they have to remember to come back later.
On a phone, the Lynx for Mac card on /download offers one main action, "Download for Apple silicon", plus a "Check your Mac" link and the system requirements. Nothing in the card lets the visitor email, save or send the link to their Mac. A buyer who reaches the download step on a phone cannot finish it there and has nothing to take back to the computer the app runs on.
Try it: Open /download on a phone. Scroll through the Lynx for Mac card and look for any way to email or send the download link to a Mac.
