How the composite score works
The overall score is a weighted average of the categories: Getting the product 40%, Trust before buying 20%, Mobile 15%, Speed 15%, and Polish and audit 10%. It is never more than 10 points above the Getting the product score, because a product a visitor cannot get cannot score well on anything else, and never more than 25 points above the weakest category, so one badly broken area is not averaged away. Any issue in the main list caps it at 89, so a score above 90 means nothing worth fixing was found.
Each category starts at 100 and stays there when nothing was found in it, whether or not the inspection got that far. Each distinct verified finding deducts 60 points for a serious problem on the path from arriving to paying, 40 for another serious problem, 30, 15 or 8 by high, medium or low severity otherwise, and 4 for an audit finding. Each additional finding below the list takes 2 more points off the overall score, up to 10. Scores stop at zero and round to whole numbers. The formula is fixed and versioned, so the same saved evidence always receives the same score.
The homepage "Share your idea" button opens a 404 page
Founders who try to pitch Reach Capital from the homepage reach an error page and get no way to submit their company.
The "Share your idea" button in the homepage "Be a Part of the Journey" section links to /apply/, and the server answers with HTTP 404 and a "We're sorry. The page you're looking for doesn't exist or have changed" page. Its only option is "Go back Home". The menu and footer have no other pitch link, and the closest route is an About FAQ email link offered for general questions. Founders who decide to pitch hit this dead end at the moment they apply.
Try it: Open https://www.reachcapital.com/, scroll to "Be a Part of the Journey" and click "Share your idea". The 404 page loads at /apply/.
The home page is missing several standard security headers
The response from https://www.reachcapital.com/ is missing Content-Security-Policy, CSP frame-ancestors or X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, Referrer-Policy, and Cross-Origin-Resource-Policy. HSTS max-age is 300. csrf_token lack Secure or HttpOnly.
Links in the Rosie post are told apart from body text by colour only
On /resources/news/rosie-childcare-ai/, the inline links "2022 Pew survey", "reporting" and "Rosie" are blue (#2254f6) and have no underline. Their contrast with the surrounding dark text (#1e2016) is 2.87:1, and the minimum is 3:1. Readers with colour-vision differences may not see that these words are links.
The newsletter signup frame has no accessible name
The Beehiiv newsletter embed, iframe[data-test-id="beehiiv-embed"], on the home page and on /resources/news/rosie-childcare-ai/ has no title, aria-label or aria-labelledby attribute.
