How the composite score works
The overall score is a weighted average of the categories: Getting the product 40%, Trust before buying 20%, Mobile 15%, Speed 15%, and Polish and audit 10%. It is never more than 10 points above the Getting the product score, because a product a visitor cannot get cannot score well on anything else, and never more than 25 points above the weakest category, so one badly broken area is not averaged away. Any issue in the main list caps it at 89, so a score above 90 means nothing worth fixing was found.
Each category starts at 100 and stays there when nothing was found in it, whether or not the inspection got that far. Each distinct verified finding deducts 60 points for a serious problem on the path from arriving to paying, 40 for another serious problem, 30, 15 or 8 by high, medium or low severity otherwise, and 4 for an audit finding. Each additional finding below the list takes 2 more points off the overall score, up to 10. Scores stop at zero and round to whole numbers. The formula is fixed and versioned, so the same saved evidence always receives the same score.
The free tool submission only works through an X account
Makers who don't use X, or aren't signed in to it, have no way to submit their tool for free.
The only button on /submit/ is "Submit via X". It sends nothing to PromptToProd and opens X's sign-in page instead, with the pre-written post hidden behind the login redirect. The page offers no email or on-project form, and it never mentions the $49 fast-track review that /verify/ sells to the same makers.
Try it: In a browser that is not logged in to X, open /submit/, fill in the form and click "Submit via X". A new tab opens on X's sign-in wall, and the /submit/ page has no other way to submit.
A core product promise does not match the result
Builders who pick a mobile app stack get a testing tool that does not test native iOS or Android apps, which gives them reason to doubt the other picks.
The runners-up are Cypress and Vitest, both web and JavaScript testers. The picker drops Email and Hosting for mobile, but the /stack/ page says the mobile filter only covers app builders and payment providers. A builder trying the picker sees a pick that does not fit what they said they are building, and the Share on X text repeats it.
Try it: Open https://prompttoprod.app/?app=mobile and scroll to card 6, Testing & code review.
The home page has no browser tab icon
The home page head declares no icon link, and /favicon.ico does not supply a fallback either. Browser tabs, bookmarks and history entries show a generic placeholder for the project. All other head metadata (title, description, canonical, og:image, Twitter card) is present and resolves.
The home page is missing four security response headers
The response from https://prompttoprod.app/ is missing Strict-Transport-Security, Content-Security-Policy, CSP frame-ancestors or X-Frame-Options, and Cross-Origin-Resource-Policy.
Stack picker card numbers fall below the contrast minimum
On the home page, the "1.", "2." and "3." numerals in front of the stack picker category labels measure 2.46:1 contrast (#52525c on #101013 at 11px). WCAG AA requires 4.5:1. The category names next to them are brighter and carry the meaning.
Inline tool links on the home page rely on color alone
On the home page stack cards, the alternative tool links such as "Sentry" and "Umami" have no underline. Their only difference from the surrounding text is color, at a contrast of 2.01:1 where 3:1 is required. The "What changed →" link is at 1.72:1 against its surrounding text.
