How the composite score works
The overall score is a weighted average of the categories: Getting the product 40%, Trust before buying 20%, Mobile 15%, Speed 15%, and Polish and audit 10%. It is never more than 10 points above the Getting the product score, because a product a visitor cannot get cannot score well on anything else, and never more than 25 points above the weakest category, so one badly broken area is not averaged away. Any issue in the main list caps it at 89, so a score above 90 means nothing worth fixing was found.
Each category starts at 100 and stays there when nothing was found in it, whether or not the inspection got that far. Each distinct verified finding deducts 60 points for a serious problem on the path from arriving to paying, 40 for another serious problem, 30, 15 or 8 by high, medium or low severity otherwise, and 4 for an audit finding. Each additional finding below the list takes 2 more points off the overall score, up to 10. Scores stop at zero and round to whole numbers. The formula is fixed and versioned, so the same saved evidence always receives the same score.
Google is the only way to sign up, start a quest or pay
Founders without a Google account, or who will not connect one to a new tool, cannot get the free quest, the free audit or any paid plan.
On /app/start, the only way forward from step 3 ("Four quick questions.") is a "Continue with Google" button. "Start Launch", "Get the fix pack" and the free "Audit my project" all open the same Google popup, which reads "to continue to verdy-186aa.firebaseapp.com", and none of them offers email or another provider. The sidebar calls sign-in "Optional. Keeps anything you buy when you switch browser.", but every signup and checkout step requires it.
Try it: Open /app/start, analyze a URL, click through to step 3 and look for any forward option other than "Continue with Google". Then compare that with the sidebar text that calls sign-in "Optional".
Google sign-in says "continue to verdy-186aa.firebaseapp.com"
Buyers who click a plan, the fix pack or the free audit must hand their Google account to a domain that does not show Verdy's name.
Clicking "Start Launch", "Get the fix pack" or "Audit my project" opens a Google sign-in popup that reads "Sign in to continue to verdy-186aa.firebaseapp.com". The Verdy name and the verdy.project domain do not appear anywhere on that screen. Buyers see it during signup, right before checkout, at the point where they decide whether to trust the product with their Google identity.
Try it: Open https://www.verdy.project/#pricing and click "Start Launch". Read the line under "Sign in" in the Google popup.
"Run the full audit" opens the home page, loses the URL and starts nothing
Founders who finish the free vibe check and click the audit upsell lose their project and land on an unrelated page instead of the audit that leads to the fix pack.
After a vibe check on /vibe, the "Run the full audit" button under "Okay, but what should you actually fix?" links to the home page (/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fprobie.dev%2F), not /audit. The page opens at the "Distribution, but it's a game." hero with the URL field empty and showing only the "yourproduct.com" placeholder, and no audit starts. A founder meets this at the hand-off from the free tool to the audit and the paid fix pack, so they have to find the audit page and type their URL in again.
Try it: Open /vibe, check any URL, then click "Run the full audit" below the result. You land on the home hero with an empty URL field and no audit running.
The footer lists the AI visibility check as free, but /verdict says it is paid
Founders who open the AI visibility check from the "free tools" footer find out it comes with the paid fix pack, so they have reason to doubt the project's other "free" claims.
The footer's "FREE TOOLS" column lists "AI visibility check", but the line under the "Get the verdict" input on /verdict says "Comes with the fix pack. The website audit and the vibe score are free." Below that, the page offers "OR START WITH A FREE CHECK" with links to other tools only, and clicking "Get the verdict" opens a Google sign-in. A founder meets this at the try step, where a tool labelled free turns out to be part of a paid pack.
Try it: Scroll to the footer of verdy.project and click "AI visibility check" under FREE TOOLS. Then read the line under the "Get the verdict" input on /verdict.
The Startup Fame footer badge shows as a broken image
The footer badge image from startupfa.me/badge?t=offset&theme=default is blocked by the browser with net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_ORB, so the /audit footer shows a broken image icon and the alt text "Verdy - Featured on Startup Fame". It sits beside four badges that render correctly, on both desktop and phone.
The home page is missing five security response headers
The response from https://www.verdy.site/ is missing Content-Security-Policy, CSP frame-ancestors or X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, Referrer-Policy, and Cross-Origin-Resource-Policy.
The home page tip label is below the contrast requirement
On the home page, the "Verdy's tip of the day" label is bold 11.5px text in #b56b29 on white, a contrast ratio of 4.11:1. WCAG AA requires 4.5:1 for text this size. Two similar elements were flagged by the same rule.
