How the composite score works
The overall score is a weighted average of the categories: Getting the product 40%, Trust before buying 20%, Mobile 15%, Speed 15%, and Polish and audit 10%. It is never more than 10 points above the Getting the product score, because a product a visitor cannot get cannot score well on anything else, and never more than 25 points above the weakest category, so one badly broken area is not averaged away. Any issue in the main list caps it at 89, so a score above 90 means nothing worth fixing was found.
Each category starts at 100 and stays there when nothing was found in it, whether or not the inspection got that far. Each distinct verified finding deducts 60 points for a serious problem on the path from arriving to paying, 40 for another serious problem, 30, 15 or 8 by high, medium or low severity otherwise, and 4 for an audit finding. Each additional finding below the list takes 2 more points off the overall score, up to 10. Scores stop at zero and round to whole numbers. The formula is fixed and versioned, so the same saved evidence always receives the same score.
Home page promises real homes but /listings says none are listed
Calgary buyers deciding whether to request the app get two different answers about whether there is anything to buy.
The home page says "CLOSR is live in Calgary. Homes shown here are illustrative; the real ones are in the app," but the Sample homes page at /listings says "No homes are listed yet." /market adds "Not enough real listings yet for market figures," and /buyers and /about describe CLOSR as opening in Calgary in the future. A buyer meets this at the try step, while checking listings before filling in the "Get the app" form.
Try it: Open closr.ca and read the line under the hero buttons, then click "Sample homes" in the top nav and read the line under "Homes for sale in Alberta".
Phone visitors get no App Store or Google Play link, only an email form
Calgary buyers and sellers already on their phones have to hand over their name and email, then wait for an email, before they can install the app.
On /signup the "Get the app" page says "Leave your email and we'll send you the download link." It has no App Store or Google Play badge, no QR code and no direct link, and every "Get the app" button leads to this form or to #join. To get the app, an iPhone visitor picks a role, types a first name, last name and email, chooses "iPhone or Android" from a dropdown, and then switches to their inbox. A visitor who doesn't want to share details yet, or whose email doesn't arrive, cannot install the app.
Try it: Open closr.ca on an iPhone and tap any "Get the app" button. You land on the /signup form with no App Store or Play Store link anywhere on the page.
The /market page jumps while it loads on phones
Phone visitors who open the market page to see Calgary homes have the content move under them before they can read or tap it.
On a phone, /market has a cumulative layout shift of 0.381, mostly from the main content section (#main>section.rd-sec.wrap). Google classes anything above 0.25 as poor. The shift happens before any scrolling or tapping and showed up again on a fresh load, so visitors at the understand step see the sample homes and the "Get the app" area move while they are trying to read or tap.
Try it: Open /market in Chrome DevTools with a 390px wide mobile profile and throttled network, then record a Performance trace and check the Layout Shift entries for the main section.
The home page lacks CSP and CORP headers
The response from https://closr.ca/ is missing Content-Security-Policy and Cross-Origin-Resource-Policy.
The fine print privacy policy link is marked only by color
The "privacy policy" link in the fine print on / and /signup has no underline. Its blue (#1d4ed8) sits at a contrast of 1.24:1 against the surrounding grey text (#6b6b65), and the requirement is 3:1. Visitors who cannot tell those colors apart see no sign that the text is a link.
