How the composite score works
The overall score is a weighted average: Visual 18.75%, Accessibility 25%, Buttons and links 31.25%, Under the hood 12.5%, and Mobile 12.5%. Unassessed categories are excluded and the remaining weights are normalized.
Product categories start at 100. Each distinct verified finding deducts 30 points for a reproduced flow defect, or 18 for critical, 12 for high, 7 for medium, and 3 for low stored detector severity. Scores stop at zero and round to whole numbers. All verified findings count, including those beyond the displayed list. The formula is fixed and versioned, so the same saved evidence always receives the same score.
The home page scrolls sideways on mobile
On the home page at a 390px mobile viewport the document scrollWidth measures 532px, so the page scrolls horizontally. The overflow comes from the search filter bar, div.searchFilters_secondary-container__hOvel, which lays out 504px wide starting at x=16, with its inner div.row reaching from x=338 to x=532. In the mobile capture the "any_difficulty" filter and its chevron already sit at the right edge of the viewport, and the remaining filter controls extend past it.
Try it: Open the home page on a phone or in a 390px wide emulated viewport and swipe left; the filter row extends about 142px beyond the viewport.
Project card thumbnails are clipped at the right edge
On the mobile home page, the thumbnails in the right-hand card column are cut at a hard vertical edge instead of fitting inside the card. The "Happy Birthday" card at around y=1366 shows the Arduino board illustration sliced mid-board, with the remainder of the image missing and blank space to its right; the "Arduino Giga R1 WiFi Joystick" card above it is cut the same way, losing the start of its caption and part of the joystick. The left column cards render complete, so the right column is being overflowed past the viewport boundary.
Try it: Open the home page on a 390px-wide phone viewport, scroll to the project card grid, and look at the right-hand column thumbnails: the images end at a straight vertical cut.
The robots.txt route serves an HTML page
A request to /robots.txt on projecthub.arduino.cc returns HTTP 200 with an HTML document rather than crawler directives. Crawlers reading that route get markup instead of allow and disallow rules, so no crawl policy is published for the project. The same response came back on a fresh load.
Try it: Run curl -i https://projecthub.arduino.cc/robots.txt and check the body: it is HTML markup, not User-agent and Disallow lines.
The home page head omits canonical and Open Graph tags
The entry document at / declares a title, a meta description, and og:title, but it has no canonical link, no og:description, and no og:image. twitter:card is set to summary_large_image with no image to pair with it, so shared links render without a preview image or a social description. The page also has no self-referencing canonical, which leaves duplicate query-string and tracking-parameter variants of the home page to be consolidated by search engines on their own.

The menu and carousel buttons have no accessible name
On the Arduino Project Hub home page, the header hamburger button (._Header-hamburgher_93jou_90) and the category carousel arrows (.customArrow_left__9afDp, .customArrow_right__7bRKA) render as icon-only controls with no inner text, aria-label, aria-labelledby, or title. axe-core flags all three under the button-name rule at critical impact, mapped to WCAG 2.1 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). A screen reader announces them only as "button", so the primary navigation menu and the category browser cannot be identified without sight.
Try it: Open the home page, inspect the header hamburger and the carousel arrow buttons in DevTools, and confirm they contain no text and no aria-label, aria-labelledby, or title attribute.

The two thumbnails in the same project row have different widths and vertical extents, so the left and right cards in the grid row do not align.
